I am a yoga “riverguide” in Davis at The Bo Tree. My inspiration comes from Shiva Rea, who has taught me a thing or two about FLOW. The way we practice yoga at The Bo Tree is aligned with the wisdom of Ayurveda, which honors the cycles that exist in nature – the seasons, the waxing & waning of the moon, and all of the other micro-fluctuations embedded in the larger cycles. Lately my life has been dedicated to following the flow between these cycles and learning from them.

While I consider myself a deep, self-inquiring student of flow, I have no interest in esoteric, fluffy, serious, new-agey psycho-babble. For me, a spiritual practice or experience is very simple and based in the magic of nature:

Dancing is my meditation.
I worship the brilliant sun.
Ocean waves relax me like nothing else.
The sound of a drum beat enlivens my bones.
Mountains humble me and inspire me.
Laughing can cure anything.
Sweating and moving have medicinal properties.
My body teaches me to listen deeply.
My dog teaches me about unconditional love.
My breath, the micro-movements of life.
